Commissioned in August of 2012, ''Manticore'' entered service in Home Fleet under the command of [[Captain of the List]] Kristen Leonard and is assigned to the First Fleet.<ref name="BShips D120803">[[BuShips Directive 1208-03]]</ref> Command shifted to the executive officer, Tony Rowley, in June of 2014,<ref name="BuShips Directive 1406-04">[[BuShips Directive 1406-04]]</ref> but the vessel folded and was stricken from the rolls in September of that year.<ref name="BSD140904">[[BuShips Directive 1409-04]]</ref>
