Prior to that date, each planet in the Manticore system had its own Planetary Guard to provide for disaster relief, peace keeping, and planetary security, but there was no perceived need for a Kingdom-wide army.<br /> <br /> RMA-SM-101 is the Royal Manticoran Army’s capstone field manual. It contains a vision for the Army that, with the help of Bureau Nine, is meant to remain as true as possible to the writings and imagination of David Weber. This manual establishes the fundamental principles and guidelines for this component of the [[TRMN|Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Club]] and is the foundation by which we maintain excellence.<br /> <br /> RMA-SM-101 describes the Manticoran profession of arms, the Army’s place in it, and provides as much background as possible so that the members of our service may do their best to roleplay the Queen’s Soldiers within the context of the Honorverse. Toward that end, we do our best to provide examples of canon uniforms, ribbons and accoutrements in order to allow our membership to best simulate the uniforms of the time period.<br /> <br /> Finally, RMA-SM-101 talks about the centerpiece of our organization: the Soldier. Throughout this manual, you will find references to leadership and management. You will find regulations and programs designed to bring out the best qualities in both leaders and those they lead.
