HMS Titan was a Gryphon-class Superdreadnought within Sixth Fleet. Commanded by CAPTJG John Gilfillan, Titan claimed Houston, TX as her charter city.
History
Upgrading from HMS Ares, HMS Titan was brought into commission in Sixth Fleet out of Missouri City, TX in June of 2016, under the command of Captain (Junior Grade) Larry Cameron.<ref name="BSD160601">BuShips Directive 1606-01</ref> Within the following month, the ship proved herself to be a fast mover: by July, she had already joined Task Group 61.1 under TF61,<ref name="ND16JUL01">Naval Directive 16JUL-01</ref>, and stood up a section as MARDET Titan.<ref name="FCOMO1607B">FORCECOM Order 1607-B</ref>
In June of 2017 command shifted to CAPTJG John Gilfillan,<ref name="BSD170602">BuShips Directive 1706-02</ref> where it remained until February, 2018: at this point, the captain and crew upgraded to HMS Salamander, returning Titan to the Active Reserve.<ref name="BuShips Directive 1802-05">BuShips Directive 1802-05</ref>
