Fleet Admiral (abbrev: FADM) is an flag paygrade within the Royal Manticoran Navy. It holds the equivalent military paygrade of F-5 and is the leader of the RMN. A fleet admiral is referred to as a "admiral" or "fleet admiral."
Honorverse
In peacetime, a Fleet Admiral would have served as an Admiral, approved by the House of Lords, and confirmed by the First Lord of the Admiralty on behalf of the monarch.
The rank of Fleet Admiral has two divisions: Red and Green. An Admiral of the Green would be promoted to Fleet Admiral of the Red, and then upon reaching sufficient seniority on the list of flag officers would be promoted to Fleet Admiral of the Green.
TRMN
The Fleet Admiral is also First Space Lord, who is the Senior Executive Vice President of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc., Deputy Chairman of the Board and Chief Executive Officer of the Administrative arm of the organization, the Royal Manticoran Navy. This person is awarded the rank of Fleet Admiral.
- The duties of the First Space Lord are as follows (These duties may be expanded as necessary by Admiralty Orders or Navy Regulations.):
- Assist in the day-to-day operations of the organization
- The issuing of regulations in the form of Naval Directives
- Recommend Officers for Senior Leadership Positions
- The day-to-day operations of the Royal Manticoran Navy Sub-Group, the Meeting Division of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc.
- Coordinate the various Administrative Offices and Bureaus of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc.
- Call and Chair a Monthly Administrative Meeting of The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. and inviting the First Lord of the Admiralty in addition to the Space Lords or Fleet Commanders as appropriate.
