BuShips Directive 2004-04 was issued on 9 March 2020 under the authority of the Third Space Lord. This directive recommissions HMS Devastation.

Attention to Orders:
Effective as of 0001 Hours on 07 April 2020, it is my pleasure and privilege to announce the recommissioning of HMS Devastation. This is a Havoc-class Destroyer and is assigned to the Third Fleet AOR (Winston Salem, NC).
The following personnel are hereby transferred and permanently assigned to HMS Devastation:
- CAPTSG Mark Polanis (assigned as CO)
- CDR Christopher Carter (assigned as XO)
- CPO Lynn Holiman (assigned as Bosun)
