Fleet Order 1703-B was issued 10 April 2017 by Commanding Officer Second Fleet. This order appointed SMCPO Christopher Baye to be Fleet Senior Master Chief Petty Officer of Second Fleet. The billet had become vacant upon the appointment of the previous FSMCPO Daniel Stiglich to be Executive Officer of HMS Valkyrie.

Effective 10 APRIL 2017, SCPO Christopher BAYE, OC, DGC, RMN is hereby appointed Fleet Senior Master Chief Petty Officer (FSMCPO), Second (Gryphon) Fleet, and brevetted to the grade of E-10 SENIOR MASTER CHIEF PETTY OFFICER. SMCPO Baye, you are hereby directed and required to repair aboard the flag to take up the staff duties of Fleet SMCPO, Second Fleet.
I offer my thanks for the service of the previous FSMCPO, Commander Daniel Stiglich, RMN, and my congratulations on his Queen's Commission and appointment as Executive Officer, HMS Valkyrie.
