RE: Deactivation of Task Group 61.1 and Task Force 61

Sir Erik,

Please be advised of the following directives concerning Task Force 61 and Task Group 61.1:

Directive 2406-01.01: Task Group 61.1 is deactivated. This Task Group number will be placed on reserve and ready for reactivation should it become necessary. All chapters shall be placed directly into Sixth Feet for their area of operations.

Directive 2406-01.02: Due to the deactivation of TG 61.1, Task Force 61 is also deactivated. Task Group 61.9 will continue its mission as directed by the Fleet Commanding Officer.

The Office of the First Space Lord thanks previous TG 61.1 member vessels and their crews for a job well done.

The above directives are issued with an effective date of 18 June 2024.
