In The Royal Manticoran Navy: The Official Honor Harrington Fan Association, Inc. (TRMN), a Medium Freighter is a Royal Manticoran Merchant Marine ship chapter. The minimum crew size is 8, of which 3 must be officers. One officer must hold a licenses as Master and the second hold a license as Chief Engineer. This size chapter also must have a Certified Bosun.

A Medium Freighter can have a maximum crew of 30 and can carry 15 passengers. This chapter may also have Inter-System Shuttles associated with it.
